Passionate about Dentistry: Dr Miriam Ting

There are few practitioners with exceptional skills and passion when it comes to dentistry, with Dr. Miriam Ting being one of them. She is a product of extensive training in dentistry with years of professional experience in her portfolio. She is also very passionate about educating and training the next generation of dentists to be exceptional at their work.

 

Education and Qualification

Dr. Miriam Ting acquired her DMD (magna cum laude) from the Temple University PA’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. She also has an MS in Craniofacial Biology from the University of Southern California and a completed certificate in Advanced Periodontology. She is also a Diplomate of both the American Board of Periodontology (ABP) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). This makes her a board-certified expert in the fields of Implantology and Periodontology.

 

Career and Appointments

Dr. Ting is an expert when it comes to minimally invasive gum disease, recession, tissue grafting, and regeneration. Therefore, all her treatments require no sutures and minimal incisions. In Paoli, Pennsylvania, Miriam Ting founded and currently directs the Think Dental Learning Institute. She is also President and Founder of President of Magnifico Oral Health Foundation, an NGO aimed at restoring the smiles of underprivileged communities. Dr Ting has had faculty appointments at several universities, including the University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, University of Southern California, and Nova Southeastern University. 

 

Research and Awards

The California Society of Periodontists recognized Dr. Ting as the “Outstanding Periodontal Graduate.” Aside from that, she won the first-place award in both the Asia Pacific Dental Students Association project competition and Young Researcher’s Award. In 2015 and 2016, Dr Ting won third and second place respectively in the Summer Implant Poster Competition at the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. In 2017, at Temple University, Miriam Ting took second place at the Science in Dental Practice Research Day within the pre-doctoral category. She has conducted a lot of research in her field with numerous published textbook chapters, research and review papers and systematic reviews in her field. Some peer-reviewed journals with some of her work include the Journal of Periodontal Research, Implant dentistry, Journal of Oral Implantology, European Journal of Oral Sciences, and Periodontology 2000. Her work has over 800 citations worldwide by both medical professionals and researchers. 

 

Currently, Dr. Miriam Ting resides in Paoli, Pennsylvania, which is where she shares her knowledge with other industry professionals through the Think Dental Learning Institute. She aims to offer evidence-based assistance to dental clinicians to improve on their service delivery.
